Other Micro-Paintings

I began painting miniature paintings in early 2009. I was inspired after I spent 5 hours working on a 3”x3” portion of a larger painting. I loved the challenge of creating so much detail in such a small space but realized it was only getting lost in the big picture. Thus began my voyeur into creating fantastic, detailed paintings as small as I could.

While I enjoy painting pet portraits, these are the deeper side of me. Tiny nuggets of thoughts and memories. These, like the pet portraits, are also strung as pendants for wearing.

Each painting is approx 1 1/4″ x 1 1/2″ give or take a 1/4″. For a closer look click on the images, but keep in mind that in real life they are not much larger than a postage stamp.
